Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced HL7 Integration Specialist with strong expertise in Mirth Connect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining interfaces that facilitate communication between healthcare systems. You will ensure smooth data exchange, primarily through HL7 and other healthcare communication standards, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain HL7 interfaces using Mirth Connect.
• Manage integration projects from requirements gathering to implementation and go-live support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration and transmission, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Monitor interface engines and ensure proper functionality and data flow between systems.
• Work closely with the development, project management, and healthcare teams to ensure the successful integration of electronic health records (EHR), lab systems, and other clinical applications.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards, including HIPAA, HL7, CDA, and other relevant regulations.
• Document processes, workflows, and data mappings for ongoing support and future reference.
• Perform unit and integration testing to ensure accurate, high-performance interface functionality.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for any integration issues in production.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in HL7 interface development and integration, including experience with Mirth Connect.
• Strong understanding of HL7 standards, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and other message types.
• Experience with integration projects involving EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript and XML used within Mirth Connect.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases and querying.
• Experience troubleshooting issues related to data transmission, connectivity, and message formatting.
• Knowledge of healthcare data security and privacy regulations, particularly HIPAA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other healthcare data exchange standards such as FHIR, DICOM, and X12.
• Familiarity with network protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, SFTP, etc.
• Experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment, understanding workflows and requirements.
• Certification in HL7 or healthcare data interoperability is a plus.
